Have you ever been at the playground, a soccer game, a school event, or even a PTA meeting and found yourself wondering if any of the moms around you wanted to be friends too? We all know that feeling — standing in a crowd of people who seem familiar, yet distant, unsure who’s open to connection and who just needs their space. Both are completely okay. But the guessing? The awkwardness? The overthinking? That part gets exhausting.
That’s why I created a simple, universal social cue for moms — a visible symbol that quietly says, “I’m open to conversation. It’s okay to come say hi.” A sign that takes the pressure, the fear, and the ambiguity out of approaching someone new.
The truth is, so many women are craving friendship, belonging, and community, especially in motherhood, yet we often hold back because we don’t want to bother anyone or misread the moment. The Haileo Initiative exists to remove that barrier. It reinvents how we communicate openness, transforming everyday moments — school pick-ups, sports practices, grocery store trips, community events — into natural opportunities for genuine connection.
This movement is about creating a kinder, clearer, more confident way for moms to find each other. No awkwardness. No guessing. No mixed signals. Just clarity, comfort, and the chance to build meaningful friendships with the women around us.
Communication doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it just needs a little cue — a simple halo — to spark something real.
